Out and About with Overture Home Care: April 2025
April was full of meaningful connections, community support, and joyful moments here at Overture Home Care! As a private home care agency dedicated to serving older adults, we’re proud to be out and about—partnering with local organizations, attending special events, and bringing a little extra cheer wherever we go. Here’s a look at what we’ve been up to this month:
Arden Courts of Richardson
Our month began with Mike meeting the leadership team at Arden Courts of Richardson before their valuable educational seminar, “Caring for a Spouse with Dementia.” These events play a vital role in supporting caregivers, and we were grateful to be a part of it.
Smart Senior Series at Fort Worth Botanic Gardens
Next, we joined the Smart Senior Series at the beautiful Fort Worth Botanic Gardens. Paige was a featured panelist, offering insight and expertise, while Alex shared helpful information with attendees. This month’s topic, “Aging on Your Terms: Creating a Plan for Your Future,” sparked thoughtful conversations and plenty of planning for what’s next. Don’t miss out on next month’s talk! You can sign up here!
Blood Pressure Clinic at Watermere Preserve
We had a fantastic turnout at our Blood Pressure Clinic at Watermere Preserve. Weekly clinics like this one by our nurse Ashley Wills, LVN give us the opportunity to promote proactive health and wellness, and we’re always glad to help!
Paint & Plant Fun at Heartis
We co-hosted a cheerful Paint & Plant event at Heartis Mid Cities, where Residents got creative decorating pots and then picked a flower to plant in their beautiful new containers. A perfect way to welcome spring!
Celebrating Occupational Therapists
In honor of Occupational Therapy Month, we showed our appreciation to the amazing therapists at Encompass Mid Cities with popcorn and refreshing tea from HTeaO. Their dedication and work with our clients assisting with maintaining or regaining their ability to perform daily activities deserves all the recognition!
Flower Arranging at Stevenson Oaks
Overture Home Care hosted a flower arranging workshop at Stevenson Oaks which was filled with color and creativity! The fun group of ladies crafted stunning arrangements—and plenty of smiles.
Supporting the Dallas Area Parkinson’s Society Walk
We were proud to participate in the Dallas Area Parkinson’s Society’s First Annual Walk held at Edgemere Senior Living. Overture Home Care had a booth and joined the walk to raise awareness and show support for those diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease.
Bunny Visits at Edgemere and The Preston
The Overture Easter Bunny made some special appearances at Edgemere and The Preston of the Park Cities, visiting residents, handing out eggs, and taking lots of sweet photos!
Easter Family Nights
We had a blast celebrating Easter Family Night at both Watermere Preserve and Stonecreek Senior Living! Residents and families enjoyed festive treats, egg hunts, and live music together—making it a heartwarming way to welcome the spring season.
Spring Celebrations
We attended the Community Vendor Fair at Watermere Firewheel, where we made new friends and shared springtime cheer with our festive booth, Easter eggs, and helpful resources!
Flower Arranging at The Stayton
Creativity continued at The Stayton, where we co-hosted another lovely flower arranging session. It is one of the favorite events for many residents and the beautiful arrangements brightened everyone's day!
Health Fair at The Stayton
We also took part in the Health Fair at The Stayton. Our on-site nurse, Gail Boyer, RN, BAAS , was able to share information about our services and sharing healthy snacks to promote wellness in the community.
Spring Fun at Discovery Village Alliance
Spring was in full swing at the Discovery Village Alliance Spring Celebration, where we hosted a signature drink for residents and families to enjoy during the festivities.
Welcoming New Team Members
We’re excited to welcome two outstanding professionals to our Overture family!
Amy Galilio has joined us as Area Business Development Manager for the Dallas area. We are thrilled to have her leadership and energy on the team.
Jeromy Parker is our new Fort Worth Administrator. A certified dementia practitioner and experienced leader in the senior care industry, Jeromy brings compassion and expertise to his new role.
Randi Chavez is our new Dallas Administrator. Her experience and passion for quality care make her a wonderful addition to our team!
Supporting the ABLAZE Gala
Overture Home Care was honored to support the ABLAZE Gala for the Alzheimer’s Association. We sponsored the event’s take-home gift boxes—complete with a cork and custom wine glass toppers and hosted a table of Overture Home Care women. Supporting Alzheimer’s research is close to our hearts, and we were thrilled to participate in this worthwhile event with fellow advocates in Tarrant County.
Men’s Health Talk at Stevenson Oaks
Finally, we wrapped up the month by hosting the Men’s Health Talk at Stevenson Oaks, another important event focused on education and proactive care for older adults given by our on-site nurse Kara Naquin Jones, BSN, RN.
It’s been a month full of purpose, partnerships, and positivity. Thank you to everyone who welcomed us, collaborated with us, and made these events so special. We’re looking forward to even more great moments in the months ahead—because at Overture Home Care, we believe that care goes beyond the home.
