Out and About with Overture Home Care: August 2025

August was an incredible month for the Overture Home Care team, filled with celebrations, community outreach, and meaningful connections. Here’s a look at what we’ve been up to:

We started the month with a delicious breakfast for our Fort Worth office hosted by Reliant and Civitas, a great way to kick off August in fellowship with our community partners.

Next, we co-sponsored Chocolate Chip Cookie Day at The Stayton with Reliant at Home. Residents taste-tested four cookie varieties, voted on their favorite, and cast cookie ballots—sweet fun for everyone!

A big milestone this month: our first class of Dementia Live® Coaches! Denise Helms and Paige Wolk are newly certified coach trainers through Age-u-cate. We are so proud of our team for completing this training, giving us even more tools to spread empathy and understanding for those living with dementia.

Wanda had a great time at a “fun” networking breakfast with fellow Senior Industry Professionals—sharing ideas, laughs, and connections.

We were honored to be sponsors for the Dementia Friendly Fort Worth Social Club. This special group offers one space for family caregivers and another for individuals living with dementia, complete with games, crafts, and volunteer support.

Alex attended this month’s Trending Women event, connecting with inspiring leaders from across the community.

We joined the Senior Service Alliance through the McKinney Chamber of Commerce for more professional networking and collaboration.

At Discovery Village Alliance, we served root beer floats to residents while supporting a back-to-school backpack drive—sweet treats for a good cause.

Amy, Mike, and Paige gave a powerful Dementia Live® presentation to the dementia support group at Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano, bringing awareness and empathy to family caregivers.

We also celebrated Ashley Tarrant’s birthday this month, along with her exciting promotion to Community Liaison of Parker County—a double reason to cheer!

At the North Texas Area Gerontological Society (NTAGS) meeting, we heard from Dr. Brian Proctor with The WELL Integrative Medicine, who shared valuable insights into senior wellness.

It was back-to-school fun at StoneCreek Senior Living, with sweet treats and another school supply drive for local kids.

At the Watermere Preserve Town Hall Meeting, Vanessa was introduced as a partner representative of Overture Home Care. Residents learned about our birthday boxes, weekly blood pressure clinic, and community sponsorships.

We brought Dementia Live® to the Alzheimer’s Association of Dallas Family Caregiver Support Group, where Amy, Mike, and Paige led an impactful session.

Vanessa led an impactful Dementia Live® session for the case managers at Encompass Arlington. This hands-on experience helps professionals gain deeper understanding and empathy for those living with Dementia.

Residents at Discovery Village Alliance enjoyed a lively happy hour with prosecco and popsicles—a perfect summer treat!

More of our amazing staff became Certified Dementia Practitioners (CDPs) this month. The 8-hour course, taught by Jane Oderberg and Estelle Neufville at the James L. West Center for Dementia Care, gave our team even deeper knowledge and skills.

At Trinity Terrace, our nurses hosted a blood pressure clinic and sponsored a delicious breakfast of muffins and fruit—a healthy and heartwarming start to the day.

We celebrated August birthdays at Watermere Preserve, handing out Overture Home Care birthday boxes and sharing lots of smiles.

At Del Webb Union Park, we proudly sponsored Game Night with the residents—an evening full of fun and fellowship.

Back at Pioneer Ridge McKinney, we enjoyed another round of snacks, games, and laughter with the residents.

Our team joined the Healthy Lives Matter Conference at TCC, where we led the Dementia Live® experience with Dementia Friendly Fort Worth. Paige and Gail also presented on building dementia-friendly communities.

We visited Stevenson Oaks for a Town Hall Meeting, another great opportunity to connect and share resources regarding our in-house nurse Kara and her team of professional caregivers that serve this community.

This month also brought a very special birthday party for one of our clients—a reminder of the personal celebrations that mean so much to us.

A big congratulations goes to Stacy Smith, our Dallas Caregiver of the Year and Aerial Clifton, who was named our Fort Worth Caregiver of the Year! We are so proud of Aerial and Stacy for representing Overture with such compassion and excellence.

We got creative at “Paint, Pour and Pick Up”, where she earned a CEU, hand-painted wine glasses, and networked with other community professionals.

We returned to Watermere Highlands Founders Lunch, where we sponsored raffle baskets—congratulations to all the lucky winners!

Finally, we closed out the month at Sunrise Frisco, where family members experienced Dementia Live® during their support group meeting—another step toward building understanding and empathy in our communities.

August was a month full of learning, laughter, and meaningful connections for our team at Overture Home Care. From celebrating birthdays and milestones to leading Dementia Live® experiences and supporting community events, we’re grateful for every opportunity to serve. A big thank-you to our partners, clients, families, and staff who make it all possible—we couldn’t do this without you! We’re excited to carry this momentum into September and continue making a difference in the lives of those we care for.
