Out and About with Overture Home Care: March 2025

March was an exciting month for Overture Home Care as we embraced the spirit of celebration, learning, and community engagement! From Mardi Gras festivities to St. Patrick’s Day parties, and everything in between, here's a look back at some of the fantastic events we were fortunate to be a part of.

Mardi Gras with Watermere Preserve

We kicked off March with a fun-filled Mardi Gras celebration at Watermere Preserve! Our team served up daiquiris, passed out beads, and enjoyed a lively parade with the residents. The costumes and Mardi Gras attire were amazing, and the joy on everyone’s faces made it such a memorable event for all!

More Mardi Gras Fun at The Tradition Clearfork

The festivities continued with another Mardi Gras event at The Tradition Clearfork. Residents got into the spirit with King Cakes, tarot card readings, and live music. The atmosphere was electric, and we loved seeing everyone enjoy the festivities!

Smart Senior Series: "The Aging Brain: Normal vs. Not Normal"

We were proud to attend the Smart Senior Series in Arlington, where the focus of the month’s talk was “The Aging Brain: Normal vs. Not Normal.” The event provided valuable insights into aging, memory, and cognitive health. We cant wait for next month’s session! Don’t forget to register for the courses at smartseniorseries.com!

Overture Supports Alzheimer’s Fundraiser

Our owner, Denise, was honored to collaborate with the owner of Worth & Gray, a boutique that gives back to the Alzheimer’s Association. It was inspiring to see such a powerful partnership in action, and we’re thrilled to be supporting the fight against Alzheimer’s disease.

St. Patrick’s Day Fun at The Vantage

The St. Patrick's Day festivities were a highlight of the month, and we couldn’t have asked for a better way to celebrate! We attended St. Patrick's Day celebrations at The Vantage, where the energy was electric. Alex served up Irish coffees, and there was a live band that got everyone into the festive spirit. It was a day full of laughter, celebration, and some delicious drinks!

Shamrock Scavenger Hunt at the Office

We also hosted our annual St. Patrick’s Day shamrock scavenger hunt at the Overture Home Care offices in Fort Worth and Dallas. Employees hunted for lucky shamrocks hidden around the office, with rewards like paid days off and gift cards up for grabs. The competition was fierce, but the camaraderie was even stronger!

St. Patrick's Day Treats at The Tradition Clearfork

Our very own Stephanie brought a little extra Irish spirit to the celebrations at Traditions Clearfork by serving up Irish cream coffees and even hosting an Irish whiskey tasting. It was a fun and festive way to keep the St. Patrick’s Day fun going!

The Dallas Marketing Team at The Edgemere St. Pattys Day Bash

Over in Dallas, our marketing team served up some delicious Irish coffees at The Edgemere. The bagpipes added the perfect touch, making everyone feel like they were right in the heart of Ireland.

St. Patricks Day at Heartis Happy Hour

Vanessa also had a great time at Heartis Happy Hour, where she served up some spiked Irish coffees to guests. It was another fun way to spread cheer and celebrate St. Patrick’s Day!

Spring Wreath Making Event

As we got closer to Easter, we joined forces with some amazing case managers and social workers for a wreath-making event. It was a wonderful way to get into the Easter spirit, and we were especially proud to celebrate Social Work Month by honoring our dedicated social workers with "Proud Social Worker" pins.

Visit to Stayton Buckner Remodel Site

Kenna, our Overture Home Care intern, had the opportunity to visit the Stayton Buckner remodel site with our marketing team members, Paige and Julie. They were able to see beautiful vision boards and get a sneak peek at some of the stunning designs to come.

National Girl Scout Day: Cookies and Cordials

On National Girl Scout Day, we had a blast at The Stayton enjoying Girl Scout cookies and cordials tastings. It was a sweet way to honor the girls who inspire leadership and community involvement!

Breakfast and Blood Pressure Clinic at Trinity Terrace

We hosted a breakfast and weekly blood pressure clinic at Trinity Terrace, where our talented Overture Home Care nurses, Laura and Cherae, were on hand to check everyone’s blood pressure. It is always such a informative and helpful event!

Social Worker Mani/Pedi Appreciation Event

To show our appreciation for social workers, we co-sponsored a mani/pedi event to celebrate Social Work Month. It was an afternoon of relaxation and recognition for the incredible work these professionals do every day!

Referral Source Event at Board and Brush

Vanessa had a great time attending a referral source event at Board and Brush, where she had the opportunity to connect with others in the field while creating customized door mats. It was a perfect mix of networking and creativity!

Painting Session with ESCAPE Family Support Group

Vanessa joined forces with Stephanie Duke for a painting session with her ESCAPE Family Support Group, where they created beautiful bluebonnet paintings. It was a peaceful and therapeutic activity that brought people together for a shared creative experience.

Blood Pressure Clinic at Watermere Preserve

Overture Home Care nurse, Ashley, was hard at work taking blood pressures at the Watermere Preserve blood pressure clinic. Her expertise and care were truly appreciated by everyone there!

TAGS Faith-Based Roundtable

Overture Home Care also had the privilege of attending the Tarrant Area Gerontological Society (TAGS) Faith-Based Roundtable at The Ridglea. It was a wonderful opportunity to engage with other professionals and explore how faith communities can support aging adults!

Aledo High School Career Fair

Our intern, Kenna, represented Overture Home Care at the Aledo High School Career Fair, answering questions and handing out information about the services we provide. She did a fantastic job of sharing the Overture Home Care story with students and families, hoping to inspire high school students to choose careers with older adults!

Spring Floral Arranging

Vanessa co-hosted a referral source event at Valor Hospice, where attendees got to create beautiful flower arrangements. It was a lovely way to connect with others in the industry while spreading some floral cheer.

Health Fair at Trinity Terrace

Our team had a booth at the health fair at Trinity Terrace, where we handed out exercise bands and provided information on how to stay healthy as we age. It was a great opportunity to engage with the community and promote healthy living!

TAGS Annual Ethics Symposium

A special shout-out to Vanessa for leading the TAGS Annual Ethics Symposium 2025 event as Program Chair! Overture Home Care was honored to sponsor this impactful day focused on ethics in elder care. Our team of nurses and social worker attended the symposium, earning continuing education hours for licensure. The event featured engaging speakers who sparked important conversations about the future of elder care.

Women’s Health Talk at Stevenson Oaks

We hosted a women’s health talk at Stevenson Oaks, where we learned valuable information about staying healthy and active as women age. It was another great event for community education and engagement.

A2Z Networking/Preston Place Health Fair

Mike from Overture Home Care had a great time at the A2Z Networking/Preston Place Health Fair, where he posed with the winner of our Overture Home Care door prize. Connecting with other health care professionals and residents helps educate our community regarding private duty caregiving.

Floral Arranging at Ariel Pointe

Finally, we were proud to support our Civitas friends at Ariel Pointe with their floral arranging event! Spring flowers were definitely the theme of the month!

What a month! March was filled with exciting events, great connections, and lots of celebrations. We’re so grateful for the opportunities to give back, connect with our community, and learn from each other. Stay tuned for more updates from Overture Home Care as we continue to celebrate life and serve with care!
