Out and About with Overture Home Care: September 2025
September was full of energy, connection, and community spirit for the Overture Home Care team! From educational events to seasonal celebrations, our month was packed with opportunities to engage, support, and celebrate alongside our incredible partners and older adults across Fort Worth and Dallas.
We kicked off the month by celebrating the end of summer at The Stayton, where we co-sponsored a fun snow-cone truck event — the perfect way to cool off and wrap up the season with smiles all around.
Next, we partnered with Encompass Rehab in Prosper, TX to host a Dementia Live® experience, an impactful training that helps caregivers better understand the sensory and cognitive challenges faced by those living with dementia.
We returned to The Stayton to help the ladies get photo-ready for their directory pictures, providing makeup touch-ups and plenty of encouragement to make each photo session shine.
At the TAGS Quarterly Continuing Education Event, Overture was proud to be one of the lunch sponsors. Vanessa, who serves as Programs Chair, and Paige, our Social Work Chair, helped organize the day, while our Clinical Consultant, Dr. Kate Taylor, delivered an engaging and informative presentation.
Over at Discovery Village Castle Hills, we brought the fun of the Texas State Fair to residents with corn dogs, popcorn, cotton candy, and taffy — a sweet and nostalgic celebration that everyone enjoyed.
Our team also joined ClearSky Rehabilitation Hospital of Weatherford for a lively Goat Yoga session — a joyful and unique way to connect with our referral partners.
At Moxies in Southlake, we co-sponsored a special CEU event featuring a three-course meal paired with a live continuing education session, combining professional development with great food and company.
Ashley and Kenna represented Overture at the Weatherford Chamber of Commerce Speed Networking Event, “The Expressway to Networking,” meeting new partners and strengthening relationships within the community.
A heartfelt shoutout goes to Gloria, one of our wonderful caregivers, who spent her day off with Mrs. Barasch at The Ridglea for Family Night — all dressed up and full of warmth. Her dedication is a beautiful reflection of Overture’s heart for service.
We also celebrated Rehab Week in a big way — co-sponsoring lunches at Ignite and Encompass MidCities, and setting up a Trail Mix Bar at Texas Rehab Arlington to show appreciation for the hardworking rehabilitation teams who make such a difference in recovery care.
At The Preserve at Spring Creek, Amy hosted a State Fair of Texas event complete with corn dogs and popcorn — another fun way to bring a beloved Texas tradition to the residents.
Mike met with Jo Alch and Julie Mercer from Joy Care Management at their informative End of Life Doula presentation, furthering important conversations about compassionate end-of-life care.
We were honored to serve as Platinum Sponsors for the Teepa Snow Conference in Dallas, where our team had the privilege of introducing Teepa and hosting a booth featuring “Overture presents: Blind Date with a Book” — a creative self-care activity for caregivers.
The Overture team also supported the Trending Women Golf Tournament, where Ashley and Vanessa represented our company at our sponsored booth.
Another highlight of the month was serving as Platinum Sponsors at Faces of Dementia, hosted by Dementia Friendly Fort Worth at the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History. Our team shared essential oils for aromatherapy to help caregivers reduce stress and lift their moods. This touching art showcase celebrated the lives, resilience, and stories of those living with dementia.
We brought the Dementia Live® experience to the Keller Senior Activities Center, helping participants gain deeper empathy and understanding for those living with cognitive changes.
At Discovery Village Alliance, we celebrated football season with a Dallas Cowboys-themed Happy Hour, featuring a custom cocktail and trail mix bar — a perfect kickoff to fall festivities.
Mike represented Overture at the Heritage Ranch Community Health Fair in Fairview, connecting with attendees and sharing information about our caregiving services.
Back at The Stayton, we celebrated the First Day of Fall with autumn-themed treats and pumpkin goody bags, followed by a Fall Floral Decorating event where residents created beautiful arrangements to take home — a huge success with an incredible turnout.
At Trinity Terrace’s Fall Fundraising Gala, which supported staff scholarships, Overture was proud to sponsor the champagne, raising a toast to education and opportunity.
Vanessa hosted a stylish Heartis Happy Hour featuring Limoncello’s and dessert charcuterie cups — a delicious combination that made for a wonderful afternoon.
We also facilitated a Dementia Live® training for Valley Ridge Church, First Baptist Church of Lewisville, and the Oasis Support Group, empowering volunteers who provide respite care and meaningful activities for families affected by dementia.
Congratulations to Alex Helms, who was promoted to Area Business Development Manager for Overture Home Care, overseeing Tarrant, Parker, Johnson, and Hood counties. Alex’s leadership, passion, and dedication to serving families make her an incredible asset to our growing team — we’re so proud of her continued success!
Finally, we wrapped up the month with Oktoberfest at The Traditions at Clearfork, where Overture provided a German beer tasting, brats, sauerkraut, and sweet treats — plus plenty of dancing to end the season on a festive note!
September reminded us once again why we love what we do — connecting with our community, supporting caregivers, and celebrating those we serve. We can’t wait to see what October brings!
